Instructor

Claire Couch - 4th Dan

Claire started training in 1983, not long before Red Lion was founded in 1985, at the age of 17 along with her sister Jane and club founder Ivan.

Despite having several years off to have children, both of whom have learnt karate at Red Lion SKC and attained 2nd Dan, and beating cancer, Claire has recently passed her 4th Dan. She continues to compete to this day, both regionally and nationally, winning medals for her Kumite (fighting).

Claire runs her own counselling business and promotes the benefit karate can have for mental health.

Claire loves a fight!
